Oliver Gottwald, born September 27, 1978, in Schwabmünchen, Germany, is an indie pop singer, guitarist, and songwriter. After winning the Augsburg Nachwuchswettbewerb “Band des Jahres” in 2000 with Anajo, the band released EPs and signed with Tapete Records in 2004, issuing four albums that charted in Germany and Austria. Gottwald gained attention in 2007 when he represented Bavaria at the Bundesvision Song Contest with Anajo, performing the duet “Wenn du nur wüsstest” with Suzie Kerstgens and finishing in 9th place. Following Anajo’s split in 2014, he released the solo album Zurück als Tourist on Tapete Records in 2015. In 2016 he founded Lieblingslieder Records, issuing the singles “Mustangmann”, “Stadt Land Fluss”, and “Halluzinationen”, with “Stadt Land Fluss” becoming the title track of the KiKA series Stadt, Land, Bus. Gottwald collaborated with ERRdeka on “Funkeln” in 2018 and was nominated for the Augsburg Medienpreis in 2018.
