Zoltán Mága, born in Szolnok, Hungary, on February 19, 1974, is a Hungarian violinist whose repertoire spans classical, folk, pop, and jazz pieces. He received his first violin at age 6 and became the first violinist of the Rajkó Orchestra at age 12. In 1996, he founded the Budapest Gipsy Band and served as the folk music leader at the Hungarian Moulin Rouge from 2000 to 2003. His studio albums include Moulin Rouge in 2002, Mága Zoltán és az Angyalok in 2003, Filmzenék csillagai in 2006, Budapesti újévi koncert in 2008, and A királyok hegedűse in 2009. Mága founded the Golden Violin Foundation and received honors including the Hungarian Gold Cross of Merit in 2004, the Order of Merit of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta in 2007, and the Budapest Award in 2009. He has performed in over 30 countries, including appearances at Carnegie Hall and the Wiener Konzerthaus.
