Miserylab was a music project of Porl King, formed in the late 1990s after Rosetta Stone disbanded. Miserylab initially served as a moniker for remix and production work. In 2005, King uploaded early material to MySpace, leading to the release of the Vaporware EP in 2007. The project's first full-length album, Function Creep, was released in 2008, followed by A Death That We Can Cure in 2008 and Freedom Is Work in 2009. In 2011, Miserylab released the album From Which No Light Escapes. The project's fifth album, Void of Life, was released in 2011. Notable tracks include "Children of the Poor" and "People", which were re-released as a seven-inch vinyl single in 2012. Miserylab went into hiatus in 2012 when King focused on his new project, In Death It Ends.
