Katie Ellen, an American punk band, was formed in 2015 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by Anika Pyle and Dan Frelly following the dissolution of their previous band Chumped. The duo initially released a demo EP titled Wild <3 in 2016. Later that year, they performed with notable acts such as Jeff Rosenstock and Cayetana, and released their first single, "TV Dreams," (2016) on Lauren Records. The band continued to evolve, adding Eric Sheppard and Anthony Tinnirella in late 2016. In July 2017, Katie Ellen released their debut album Cowgirl Blues, also on Lauren Records. They followed up with the EP Still Life in July 2018 and a live performance EP titled Katie Ellen on Audiotree Live in August of the same year.
