Billy Hector, born in 1956 in Orange, New Jersey, is an American blues guitarist and singer-songwriter. Inspired by seeing the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show, he began playing guitar at age nine and later studied jazz guitar and music history at William Paterson University. Hector started performing regularly in a blues band in 1985. His debut single "Your Time Is At Hand" / "If You Love Me Like You Say (You Wouldn't Treat Me Like You Do)" was released in 1988. Throughout his career, he has released several albums, including Hard to Please (1998), Out of Order (2004), and Some Day Baby (2018). Hector's guitar style blends Jersey Shore blues with rock'n'roll. He received the Best Guitarist Award from The Aquarian Weekly twice, as well as three Asbury Park Music Awards: "Best Guitarist," "Best Blues Band," and "Living Legend."
