Brooke Medicine Eagle, born Brooke Edwards in Montana in 1943, is an American author, singer-songwriter, and teacher specializing in interpretations of Native American spirituality and New Age practices. Eagle earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and mathematics and a Master of Arts in counseling psychology from the University of Denver. Claiming ancestry from six Native American tribes, her published works include her books Buffalo Woman Comes Singing: The Spirit Song of a Rainbow Medicine Woman in 1991 and The Last Ghost Dance: A Guide for Earth Mages in 2000. As a recording artist, she released several CDs focusing on spiritual chants and music, including A Gift of Song in 1995, Visions Speaking in 1996, Gathering the Sacred Breath in 2003, Live from the Shaman's Cave in 2005, and For my People in 2005.
