Sweet Apple, an American rock band formed in 2010, included members from Cobra Verde and Dinosaur Jr. The band's origins trace back to a road trip taken by John Petkovic following his mother's death in late 2007, leading to the formation of Sweet Apple with Dave Sweetapple, J Mascis, and Tim Parnin. Their debut album, Love & Desperation, was released in 2010, receiving positive reviews from critics. The band released several singles and albums, including "Elected/no Government" (2012) and The Golden Age of Glitter (2014), the latter of which received acclaim from publications like Mojo and Rolling Stone. Sweet Apple's first live performance occurred on March 18, 2010, at Threadgill's in Austin, Texas. In early August 2024, bassist Dave Sweetapple passed away at the age of 58.
