While searching for the best arena for his deeply felt and world-changing ideas, Valentijn Bannier decided to start a circus. The resulting Cirque Valentin is a celebration of shame – or rather, a celebration of the excitement one feels when one goes beyond shame.
Valentijn Bannier is dancer, drummer, guitarist and actor. In recent years he has involved himself with Steye, Giovanca, Zuco 103, Koffie and conservatory studies.
For his own musical spectacles, Valentijn’s eternally inspired by Michael Jackson, The Muppets, The Roots and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. But being brought up by a shameless grandmother has also had a strong influence on the Cirque. Currently he travels with an entourage of dogs, cats and other drooling, but seriously musical, beasts. Together they enter dark, dark places to create hot, hot shows that heat audiences to a boiling point that melts all borders.
Cirque Valentin makes classics for later – for when you are all grown up.
