Andrew Foster‑Williams was born in 1973 in Wigan, Greater Manchester, United Kingdom, and is an English operatic bass-baritone, concert singer and recitalist. After winning the Opera Prize, the Flora Nielsen Recital Prize and the Elena Gerhardt Lieder Prize, he made his professional debut as Friedrich von Telramund in Lohengrin at La Monnaie, Brussels, and later appeared as Escamillo in Carmen at the Bregenz Festival. He has worked with some of the world's greatest orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, and San Francisco Symphony. The Daily Telegraph named him Newcomer of the Year in 2009, and he has performed at venues such as Wigmore Hall.
