Luiz Caracol, born on January 9, 1976, in Elvas, Portugal, is a Portuguese musician known for his roles as a composer, guitarist, and singer. Caracol's music reflects his diverse background of being the son of parents who had emigrated from Angola and growing up in a multicultural Lusophone environment. He began his musical career in 2001 as a songwriter and later formed his first band, Luiz e a Lata, with whom he released two albums: Andei... (2005) and 9 (2008). In 2009, Caracol collaborated with Sara Tavares and started his solo career. His debut solo album, Devagar, was released in 2013. Subsequent releases include Metade e Meia (2017), só.tão (2021), and Ao Vivo no Namouche (2023). Caracol has performed at various notable events in Spain, including the Cantos na Maré festival in 2014 and the MusaLusa Portuguese Culture Festival in 2016.
