Sinyaya Ptitsa was a Soviet vocal and instrumental ensemble that originated in Gomel, Byelorussian SSR (now Belarus), in 1972. The band initially started as We, You and Guitars, before changing their name in the mid-1970s. By 1986, they had gained significant recognition after participating in the festival Rock in the Struggle for Peace in Sokolovo, Czechoslovakia, and performing for Soviet troops in Germany. The group released several albums throughout their career, including Blue Bird (1976), From Heart to Heart (1978), Autumn Etude (1985), and Underground Passage (1986). Notable songs such as "Between Me and You" (1978) and "Colored Sounds" (1983) highlighted their musical range. Sinyaya Ptitsa performed at several festivals, including the Soviet-Indian Friendship Festival in 1987 and the 12th World Festival of Youth and Students in 1985, and toured internationally, visiting places like Afghanistan, Tanzania, Kenya, Vietnam, and Laos. The group's classic lineup came to an end in 1991.
