Johnny Henri Terwingen, professionally known as John Terra, is a Belgian singer, crooner, and producer born on June 21, 1951, in Maasmechelen, Belgium. Singing primarily in Flemish, he achieved chart success on the Belgian Ultratop 50 with singles including “Is er een ander? (tussen jou en mij)” (1973), which reached number 3, “Iemand heeft je pijn gedaan” (1973), which reached number 6, and “A la Espagnola” (1974), which reached number 13. Other charting singles include “De dag dat het zonlicht niet meer scheen” (1981) and “Mijn geschenk” (1994). His discography features the studio albums John Terra zingt Neil Diamond (2016), which peaked at number 10, and Even van de wereld (2022), which peaked at number 23 on the Belgian charts. Later in his career, Terra transitioned into producing music for other prominent Belgian artists.
