Meteosat, a Spanish pop group from Madrid, formed in 1997 with members including Diana Aller, Nacho Escolar, Eduardo Carrasco, and Pablo Dopico. The band's early work was characterized by low-budget instruments and improvisational techniques, using toys and Walkman headphones for sound effects. Their breakthrough came with the release of their EP, Los Idiomas Vivientes, in 1998 under Elefant Records, which included the tracks "Rescate Espacial en Alfa Centauro" and "Loco por los tiestos". The following year, they released another EP, Mundo De Metal, under RCA. In 2000, Meteosat signed with Universal Music Spain and released their debut album, Espunk!, produced by Fino Oyonarte of Los Enemigos. The album featured the hit single "Vilma" and achieved significant commercial success, reaching around 35,000 copies sold and charting on Los 40 Principales. Meteosat disbanded in 2001.
