Pekinška Patka, a Serbian and Yugoslav punk rock band, was formed in Novi Sad in 1978 by vocalist Nebojša Čonkić, guitarist Sreten Kovačević, drummer Laslo Pihler, and bass guitarist Miloš Žurić. The group's early singles, including "Biti ružan, pametan i mlad" (1979) and "Bolje da nosim kratku kosu" (1980), brought them significant popularity. Their debut album Plitka poezija was released in 1980, marking the first punk rock album by a Serbian band. The following year, after lineup changes, they released their second and final album Strah od monotonije. Pekinška Patka disbanded in 1981 but reunited briefly in 2008 for a performance at the Novi Sad EXIT Festival alongside Sex Pistols. In 2010, another reunion took place with a different lineup, leading to legal disputes over the band name.
