The Winston Giles Orchestra, an Australian band formed in 2004, was founded by Winston Giles, a singer-songwriter known for his previous work with bands such as Floor 13 and Atari Baby. The band's debut album, Soundtracks for Sunrise, was released in 2004. Their second album, A Magnificent Beautiful Day, followed in 2005. The Winston Giles Orchestra is known for their psychedelic arrangements and unconventional song titles, as well as live shows that incorporate video projections and complex stage configurations. During live performances, the band lineup includes Winston Giles on guitars and vocals, and Dorian West on horns, keyboards, and beats. In 2006, the band embarked on their first overseas tour, performing at festivals and clubs across the UK and the US. Notable songs include "Welcome to the Hotel", which featured on Chris Coco's electroacoustic compilation in 2006.
