Klayton is an American multi-instrumentalist and producer born as Scott David Albert on 17 June 1969. Based in Los Angeles, he achieved professional recognition in the early 1990s as the leader of the industrial metal group Circle of Dust. He established the electronic rock solo project Celldweller in 1999. He released the debut eponymous studio album, Celldweller (2003), which reached number 17 on the Billboard Internet Sales Chart. The recording received seven awards at the 2004 Just Plain Folks Music Awards, including Album of the Year and Producer of the Year. His tracks “Switchback” (2003) and “Own Little World” (2003) appeared in numerous films and video games, including Need for Speed: Most Wanted and Dead Rising 2. His discography includes the studio recordings Wish Upon a Blackstar (2012), End of an Empire (2015), and Offworld (2017). Klayton also performs under the monikers Scandroid and FreqGen.
