Fred Welton Warmsley III, born September 22, 1987, is an American electronic musician and producer from Sacramento, California, who originally performed under the moniker Lee Bannon. He first gained attention after self-releasing beat tapes between 2010 and 2012, collaborating with California hip-hop acts including Souls of Mischief and The Alchemist. In 2012, he became the touring DJ for Pro Era and produced tracks for Joey Bada$$' mixtape Summer Knights. After exploring a more experimental sound on his self-released single “NW/WB” (2013), he signed with British label Ninja Tune. He released his debut studio album, Alternate/Endings, on January 9, 2014. In May 2015, he changed his moniker to ¬ b and released his second ambient album, Pattern of Excel, on July 8, 2015. Later that year, he adopted the name Dedekind Cut, releasing the EP tHot eNhançeR (2015). Under this name, he also released the EP American Zen (2016) and his debut studio album, $uccessor, on November 11, 2016, followed by the album Tahoe (2018).
