Florian Trübsbach, born on May 16, 1976 in Cologne, Germany, is a German jazz saxophonist and composer. He learned violin as a child and was a member of the Tölz Boys' Choir. After studying at the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich, Trübsbach released his debut album Mason & Dixon in 2001 and began working freelance in Berlin. He led his own groups, touring extensively, and also collaborated with notable artists such as Martin Auer, Peter O’Mara, Barbara Jungfer, Bill Holman, Joe Lovano, Larry Porter, Gansch & Roses, Matthias Schriefl, and Johannes Lauer. In 2013, he joined the Forkolor Saxophone Quartet. Trübsbach succeeded Leszek Zadlo as a professor of jazz saxophone at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich in 2011. He has received several awards, including the Bavarian State Prize for Young Artists and the New German Jazz Prize with the Bastian Jütte Quartet in 2016.
