Natalia Andreyevna O'Shea is a Russian singer-songwriter and musician born on September 3, 1976, in Moscow, Soviet Union. Known professionally as Hellawes, she is a classically trained pianist and linguist specializing in Celtic and Germanic languages. She began her recording career in 1996 with the releases Running to Paradise, The Road of Dream, and The Lunar Day. Hellawes reached wider visibility in 1998 as a vocalist for the ensemble Till Eulenspiegel. In 1999, she established the folk-rock ensemble Melnitsa. Their recording career included the studio recording The Road of Dream (2003) and the studio recording Mountain Pass (2005). The ensemble reached professional recognition in 2005 when the song "Night Mare" reached Number 1 on the Nashe Radio charts. Hellawes released the solo studio recording The Solo Album (1999) and the studio recording Leopard in the City (2009). Her discography included the studio recording New Boots (2013) and the collaborative project Clann Lir (2005) with her husband James O'Shea.
