Kirpichi, an alternative rock group from Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation, was formed in 1995 by Vasiliy Vasin, Stas Sytnik, and Kirill Solovyev. The band initially performed under the name Bricks are Heavy, with all lyrics in English. Their first concert took place on May 15, 1995. After disbanding in 1996 due to heavy membership turnover, Vasiliy Vasin's father funded their debut album Kirpichi Tyazhely, released by SHOCK Records in 1996. The group toured extensively from 1997 to 1998. Their second album, Smert' na reive, was published under Gala Records in 1999. Tragedy struck on February 18, 2000, when drummer Evgeniy Nazarov died from an overdose just before the release of their third album. Kirpichi continued to release albums, including Let's Rock! (2004) and Summertime (2013).
