Põhja-Tallinn, a hip-hop band from Estonia, was formed in 2007 and originated from the Põhja-Tallinn district. The group initially consisted of three singers and one singer from Pelgulinn, along with a live band from other Tallinn districts. Their breakthrough came with the release of their first single "Probleem" in 2007. In 2011, the band's current seven-member lineup was established. Põhja-Tallinn gained significant attention with their song "Meil on aega veel", presented at the Estonian pre-selection for the Eurovision Song Contest "Eesti Laul 2013," reaching the final. The band's debut album Per aspera ad astra was released in October 2012, followed by Maailm meid saadab in 2013. In 2013, Põhja-Tallinn won three Estonian Music Awards: Band of the Year, Debut Album of the Year, and Hip-Hop/Rap Album of the Year for Maailm meid saadab.
