Botnleðja, also known as Silt, is an Icelandic rock band formed in 1994 in Hafnarfjörður, fronted by Heiðar Örn Kristjánsson on vocals and guitar, with Ragnar Páll Steinsson on bass and Haraldur Freyr Gíslason on drums. Their breakthrough came in 1995 when they won the Músíktilraunir group contest, followed by the release of their debut album Drullumall that year. Subsequent albums include Fólk er Fífl (1996), Magnyl (1998), Douglas Dakota (2000), and Iceland National Park (2003), which established their presence in Icelandic rock. The band took a break around 2013 but reunited in 2023 when the band opened for the band Pavement at Harpa.
