Iryna Mykolayivna Bilyk, also known as Iryna Bilyk, was born on April 6, 1970, in Kyiv, Ukraine SSR, and is a Ukrainian singer and composer. She began dancing and singing in childhood and wrote her first song at ten. After studying at the Glier State Music College, she entered the 1989 Chervona Ruta festival, launching her solo career with the 1990 album Kuvala Zozulia. The mid‑1990s saw a succession of releases, including Nova (1995), Tak Prosto (1996) and Farby (1997), the latter selling over a million copies and earning her the Zolota Zharptytsya award for Album of the Year. In 2000, she issued OMA and later expanded into Polish‑language material with Biłyk (2002). The 2004 album Lubov. Yad achieved platinum status, while Na Bis (2008) and Rassvet (2014) cemented her status as a pop icon. She received the Order of Princess Olga, third class, in 2020, marking her enduring influence on Ukrainian music.
