Alfred 23 Harth

Alfred Harth, known professionally as Alfred 23 Harth or A23H, was born on September 28, 1949, in Kronberg im Taunus, Germany, and is recognized for his roles as a saxophonist and composer. In 1967, he founded the free improvisation band Just Music, which recorded their work on the ECM label. Harth also opened a center for free art in Frankfurt/Main, a hub for live music and art exhibitions. His collaboration with Heiner Goebbels resulted in the LP Hommage/Vier Fäuste für Hanns Eisler in 1976. In 1980, he recorded Es herrscht Uhu im Land, a project that mixed jazz, punk, and classical music. This led to the formation of Cassiber with Christoph Anders, Chris Cutler, and Goebbels in 1982.
