Amewu, whose real name is Amewu Reiß, was born in Berlin on May 20, 1983 and is a German rapper who is known above all for his profound and socially critical lyrics. His music belongs to the genre of conscious rap, a type of hip-hop characterized by reflective and often political content. Amewu began his musical career in the early 2000s and quickly gained attention for his complex rhymes and the emotional depth of his music. Amewu's debut album Entwicklungshilfe was released in 2009 and established him as a distinctive voice in German rap. He built on this reputation with his second album Leidkultur (2012).
