Ana Mazzotti was a Brazilian singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist born in 1950 in Caxias do Sul. In the mid-1960s, she led an all-female Beatles cover band before forming the group Desenvolvymento in 1968 with her husband, the drummer Romildo Teixeira Santos. After performing at festivals in Porto Alegre, she relocated to Rio de Janeiro in 1974. That same year, she released her debut studio album, Ninguém Vai Me Segurar. Her music appeared on the soundtracks of television programs including the 1977 series O Profeta. Mazzotti issued her eponymous second studio album, Ana Mazzotti, in 1977 followed by the live recording Ana Mazzotti - Ao Vivo Festival De Verão Do Guarujá 82 in 1982. She died in 1988 in São Paulo. In 2019, the label Far Out Records reissued her catalog.
