Elisabeth Kaplan was born in South Africa and is currently based in Vienna, Austria. She studied music in Salzburg and in Graz in the south of Austria. She fronted the folk-classical crossover group Quadriga Consort for 12 years and was also the lead singer of the short-lived band French On Friday. Elisabeth is a songwriter both for herself and for other artists and a key member of the electronic pop outfit Trip Fontaine. In addition, she is a film composer with Kaplan & Hirschmann, whose most notable works include the Oscar-nominated short film “Watu Wote - All of Us” (including the song “Watu Wote” performed by Vusa Mkhaya).
