Yung Simmie, born Andrew Lamont Thomas in 1993 in Carol City, Miami, Florida, is an American rapper and member of the hip-hop collective Raider Klan. Thomas began his career independently releasing the mixtape Purple Lady Underground Tape in December 2011, before signing to Raider Klan Records. Under the label, Thomas released the mixtapes G Funk Resurrection 1993–1995: Underground Tape (2012) and Tha Undergrxxxd Mixtape: XXL Freshman xf 1993 (2012). Subsequent mixtape releases include Basement Musik (2013), Shut Up and Vibe Vol. 1 (2013), Basement Musik 2 (2013), Shut Up and Vibe 2 (2014), and Yung Smokey (2015), which peaked at number 31 on the Billboard Twitter Emerging Artists chart. On December 18, 2015, Thomas released the EP OG Smoke. Thomas also released the mixtapes Basement Musik 3 (2015), Simmie Season (2016), Simmie Season 2 (2016), and Big Smokey (2017).
