Changer is an Icelandic heavy metal band formed in 1999 in Akureyri by drummer Kristján B. Heiðarsson. Initially a solo project, the band later expanded after Heiðarsson moved to Reykjavík in 2000 and began performing live. Changer’s sound has been described as blending elements of death rock, thrash metal, and metalcore. The group has undergone numerous lineup changes throughout its career, with Heiðarsson remaining its only constant member. After a hiatus, Changer reunited in the early 2020s and released the EP Pledge of the Dying (2022). Their other releases include the albums Scenes (2004) and Darkling (2010), as well as the EPs Inconsistency (2001) and Breed the Lies (2006).
