Rapper RIN’s real name is Renato Simunovic, and he was born on June 28, 1994, in Bietigheim-Bissingen, Germany. He began making music in 2012 and released the song “Ljubav/Beichtstuhl” in 2015, which brought him his first recognition in the hip-hop scene. A year later, he released his EP Genesis and appeared as a featured artist on Young Hurn’s song “Bianco,” which was named “Single of the Year” by the hip-hop magazine Juice. His first studio album, Eros (2017), featured the hits “Bros” and “Monica Bellucci,” both of which went platinum in Germany and gold in Austria and Switzerland. A year later, the mixtape Planet Megatron was released, followed in 2019 by his second full-length album, Nimmerland. This album reached No. 3 on the charts in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. “Dior 2001” is the album’s most successful single and has been certified platinum twice. RIN is also a sought-after featured artist, appearing on tracks by Kynda Gray (“Ayo Technology,” 2020) and KitschKrieg (“Oh Junge,” 2020), among others. With his two collaborations with Ufo361, “Next” (2019) and “Low Life” (2021), he scored two more Top 5 singles on the German charts. In 2021, he released his third album Kleinstadt, which catapulted him back into the Top 5 in German-speaking countries. On the German hip-hop charts, the album even propelled RIN to the No. 1 spot for the first time. After a brief hiatus, RIN released the album Nostalgia, which earned the rapper the No. 3 spot on the German charts.
