Rutger van Barneveld, born 13 August 1990 in Tiel, Gelderland, is a Dutch pop singer and actor who first rose to national attention through the television talent show Ik geloof in mij aired from January 2013 to 7 May 2014 on Omroep Gelderland, and again from October 2020 on SBS6. He broke through with the single "Helena" in 2013, a chart‑topping hit that established his presence in the Dutch pop scene; the track was re‑released as "Helena 2.0" in February 2021. Van Barneveld’s debut studio album Helena followed on 27 May 2022, complemented by the single "Dikke 10" on 20 May 2022. Subsequent releases included "Zwoele zomernachten" on 22 May 2026 and "Ja Ik Wil" on 26 September 2025, expanding his catalogue into 2025‑26. His collaborations involved a duo with René le Blanc on the shows Code van Coppens: De wraak van de Belgen (2022) and The Big Bang (2023). In 2025, he married John de Bevers, with wedding officiation by Kees Stevens, and then resided in Grave with his wife.
