Juliana de Almeida Moraes, known as Ju Moraes, was born on November 21, 1985, in Salvador, Brazil. She began performing at age 10 and later sang in bars in Bahia's capital. In 2012, Moraes gained recognition by participating in the first season of The Voice Brasil, reaching the final under coach Claudia Leitte. Following this, she transitioned from leading a band called Samba D’Ju to pursuing a solo career. She plays guitar, ukulele, and pandeiro. Moraes released her debut album, Em Cada Canto Um Samba, on April 22, 2014, through Universal Music, which includes the single "Na Palma da Mão." She continued with the album Sabor Brasileiro (February 6, 2017) and the EP Samba, Reggae e Outras Vibes (2019). Since 2021, she has been part of the female samba collective Sambaiana.
