Kid Canaveral was a Scottish alternative pop and indie rock band formed in St Andrews, Fife, Scotland, in 2004. The original lineup included David MacGregor on guitar and vocals, Kate Lazda on guitar and vocals, Rose McConnachie on vocals and bass guitar, and Dan Sheehy on drums. In 2006, they relocated to Edinburgh. Between 2007 and 2010, Kid Canaveral released several singles including "Smash Hits" and "Couldn't Dance", as well as their debut album Shouting at Wildlife (2010). The band signed with Fence Records in 2011, which re-released Shouting at Wildlife. Their second album Now That You Are a Dancer (2013) was nominated for the Scottish Album of the Year Award in 2014. In 2013, they joined Lost Map Records and released their third record Faulty Inner Dialogue (2016). The band went on a hiatus in 2019.
