Youth, born Martin Glover, is a British musician and record producer who was born in Slough, Buckinghamshire, England, on 27 December 1960. He co-founded the post-punk rock band Killing Joke as their original bass guitarist in 1978 and later rejoined the group in 1994. In 1977, he played bass in the punk rock band the Rage under his stage name Youth. Following his initial departure from Killing Joke in 1982, he co-founded the band Brilliant with Jimmy Cauty. In the early 1990s, he formed the electronic dance duo Blue Pearl with singer Durga McBroom, achieving a number 4 hit on the UK singles chart with the single “Naked in the Rain” (1990). As a producer, Glover co-produced the band the Verve's album Urban Hymns (1997), which earned him a Brit Award for British Producer of the Year in 1998. He also co-founded the musical duo the Fireman with Paul McCartney, releasing the albums Strawberries Oceans Ships Forest (1993), Rushes (1998), and Electric Arguments (2008). In addition to his rock projects, he established the psychedelic trance record label Dragonfly Records, along with Liquid Sound Design and Kamaflage Records. He collaborated with David Tibet to release the album Create Christ, Sailor Boy (2016) under the name Hypnopazūzu, and worked with Gaudi on the album Astronaut Alchemists (2017). In 2021, he won a Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album for producing Toots and the Maytals' album Got to Be Tough.
