The Adams, an Indonesian indie rock band, was formed in 2002 at the Jakarta Institute of Arts. The original lineup included Ario Hendarwan on guitar and vocals, Martino "Tino" Runtuh Aku on guitar, Setyo Dwiharso on bass, and Bawono "Beni" Adhiantoro on drums. After several line-up changes, including the addition of Saleh "Ale" Husein on guitar and vocals, they released their self-titled debut album in 2005 under Aksara Records, featuring "Konservatif" which was ranked 136th on Rolling Stone Indonesia's list of The 150 Greatest Indonesian Songs of All Time. The band contributed to the soundtrack of Joko Anwar’s directorial debut film Janji Joni, with tracks including "Konservatif" and "Waiting". After a period of inactivity from around 2010 to 2014, The Adams returned with new material, releasing ß Release in 2017 and Agterplaas in 2019.
