Funny Money, an American rock band, was founded in 1996 in Maryland by lead vocalist Steve Whiteman and guitarist Billy Andrews. The duo met at a charity gig in Baltimore and initially focused on Kix covers alongside original material written with Shea Quinn of the Sharks. Notable members included Dean Cramer on guitar and backing vocals, Mark Schenker on bass and backing vocals, and Jimmy Chalfant on drums. Their debut album, Funny Money, was released in 1998, followed by Back Again in 1999 and a live album, Even Better...Live!, recorded at Jaxx Nightclub in Springfield, Virginia, in 2001. In 2003, after significant lineup changes, Funny Money released their fourth album, Skin to Skin, which became their best-selling record. The band's fifth album, Stick It!, was released in 2006 and featured the song "Play Me Like a Rhythm", which appeared in the 2013 movie The Frozen Ground.
