Dhanith Sri is a Sri Lankan singer, composer, and songwriter born in Kandy, Sri Lanka, on December 22, 1994. He was educated at Vidyartha College and Kingswood College in Kandy before graduating from the University of Peradeniya with a specialized degree in electrical and electronic engineering. As a teenager, Sri performed as a dancer and released the independent singles “Jeewithe” and “Obe As”. He entered the mainstream music industry with his 2018 breakthrough hit single “Pandama”, which combined synthesizers and traditional Sri Lankan drum beats with his high-pitched vocals to reach number one on both television and radio charts concurrently. His subsequent releases included the singles “Naukawa” (2018), “Sandaganawa” (2019), “Gindara” (2020), “Ehema Dewal Na Hithe Mage” (2020), and “Alokawarsha” (2020). He also sang the theme song for the film Dam and collaborated with Bathiya and Santhush on the single “Sebala Puthu”. In 2025, Sri won two honors at the Derana CloseUp Music Video Awards for his 2023 rap album, Raplanthaya. His self-directed music video for “Aprakashitha” won Best R&B Video, and his co-directed video for “Mawa Hoyan” won Best Alternative Video.
