Shlomo Ydov, born Shlomo Yid‑vav on January 19, 1951 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, is an Israeli singer-songwriter, composer, guitarist, and arranger of Argentine origin. He began playing music at eight, first on drums and later on guitar in his school orchestra, influenced by musicians such as Ariel Ramírez. His first solo album, released in 1979, featured musical settings of Israeli poets and marked his entry into the Israeli music scene. Ydov followed with the albums חולם בספרדית (1988), פרטים קטנים (1997), and מתוך השקט (2009), collaborating with artists including Arik Einstein and Matti Caspi. He earned the Ophir Award in 1993 for music in the film The Revenge of Itzik Finkelstein.
