Insision, a Swedish death metal band from Stockholm, was formed in 1997 following the dissolution of two other local bands, Embalmer and Ildoor. The group's initial lineup released their first demo, Meant to Suffer, in 1998. Guitarist Roger Johansson joined the band shortly after, and the band signed with Heathendoom Music. Their debut EP, The Dead Live On, was released in 1999. Throughout the early 2000s, Insision underwent several lineup changes and released multiple demos, including Promo 2000 and Revelation of the Sadogod. In 2002, they signed with Wicked World, a sublabel of Earache Records, and released their debut album, Beneath The Folds Of Flesh, followed by Revealed & Worshipped in 2004. Insision toured extensively across Europe and Scandinavia, sharing the stage with notable acts such as Dark Funeral, Hypocrisy, and Suffocation. Their aggressive death metal style, characterized by deep guttural vocals, earned comparisons to bands like Regurgitate and Vomitory.
