Iahweh, a Brazilian Catholic Christian rock and Christian metal band originating in São Paulo, emerged in the early 1990s with frontman André Leite on vocals and a lineup that included Toninho de Marco and Tiago Mattos on guitars, Alessandro Bittencourt on bass, and Eloy Casagrande on drums. The band’s breakthrough came with the 1996 release of the album Alfa e Ômega, followed by a brief hiatus that ended in 2008 when they issued Neblim, featuring the tracks "Misericórdia, Senhor" and "Ruah". In 2009, they earned the inaugural Louvemos ao Senhor Trophy for Best Rock Album, and in 2010 produced the first music video for "Neblim". After lead singer André Leite departed in 2012, the group released the single "Deserto" in 2014, featuring Father Fábio de Melo.
