Carolin Widmann, born in 1976 in Munich, Germany, is a German violinist. She began her musical journey studying with Igor Ozim in Cologne, Michèle Auclair in Boston, and David Takeno in London. Widmann's career took off as she performed with conductors such as Sir Roger Norrington and Riccardo Chailly, and collaborated with composers like Pierre Boulez and Wolfgang Rihm. Her debut album Reflections was released in 2005, followed by notable works including Phantasy of Spring (2009) and collaborations with orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and Orchestre de Paris. Widmann has received numerous awards, including the Prix du President at the Concours International Yehudi Menuhin in 1998 and the Diapason d'Or in 2010 for Phantasy of Spring. She became a professor at the University of Music and Theatre Leipzig in October 2006.
