Stechschritt is an Electronic Body Music (EBM) and electropunk group from Sandersleben, Germany, formed in 2011 by Peter Richter. Associated with the Anhalt EBM subgenre, the band blends Oi! and punk influences with a martial aesthetic. Their debut studio album, An die Front, was released in 2013 through Electric Tremor Dessau and featured eight tracks, including reinterpreted punk songs. In 2014, the group issued the album Die neue Jugend, featuring a duet with Rummelsnuff and a cover of the track “Troops of Tomorrow” by The Vibrators. In 2016, Stechschritt began the Kulturgut EP series, focusing on re-intoning songs by various artists. This included Kulturgut Vol. 1 and the 2017 release Kulturgut Vol. 2, which featured a collaboration with Ben Bloodygrave. In 2018, the band released the single “Scheiss drauf / Krieg”, incorporating black metal elements such as blastbeats. The project maintains a documented anti-fascist political stance.
