Winston Giles, born January 26, 1974, in Melbourne, Australia, is a singer, songwriter, guitarist, and producer. Inspired by bands like The Beatles, The Velvet Underground, and The Cure, he began playing guitar and piano as a teenager. At 19, after meeting the Red Hot Chili Peppers, he moved to the United States. After two years in Los Angeles, he relocated to Austin, Texas, where he performed regularly at Antone's Blues Club. In 1996, Giles formed Floor 13, an art punk rock band, releasing the EP The World, which gained significant airplay in Australia. The band toured extensively and later based in Dallas, Texas, with a new American line-up. Returning to Australia in 2000, he started the project Atari Baby, releasing a self-titled album along with many singles, remixes, and videos. In October 2008, Winston Giles released LOVERS, an upbeat album produced with Don Nadi.
