Living Things were an American rock band that originated from St. Louis, Missouri, forming in 2001. Their first major-label release, Black Skies in Broad Daylight, came out via DreamWorks Records in 2004, followed by the critically acclaimed Ahead of the Lions in 2005, which ranked number 42 on Rolling Stone's list of the year's top albums. The single "Bom Bom Bom" reached number 21 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart. The single "Oxygen" followed in 2009, the same year the album Habeas Corpus was released. The band’s catalog remains a staple in early‑2000s indie rock collections, and their releases continue to influence new generations of musicians.
