Flatcat, a Belgian DIY punk rock band, was founded in 1993 by the Luyckx brothers. The group gained early traction with demo tapes like Demo Tape (1996) and Punkrock RIP Promo Tape (1999). Their first full-length album, Better Luck Next Time, was released in 2002 on Eye Spy Records in Europe and Highlight Sounds in South America. The band embarked on two Brazilian headlining tours in 2001 and 2002 and notably released a video clip for "Beautiful in Venice" (2002), which aired on MTV Brazil in 2002. Notable achievements include selling out the Magdalenazaal in Bruges and charting with "Hear Tonight" at number 9 on Belgium's alternative radio hitlist De Afrekening in 2004. Subsequent releases include So This is When We Grow Up in 2006 and Heartless Machine in 2014.
