Bernas Avşar, known professionally as Bero Bass, was born on April 11, 1980, in Diyarbakır, Turkey. He is a German rapper of Kurdish descent. Avşar moved to Cologne, Germany, and grew up in the Ossendorf district. In 2007, he formed the rap duo La Honda with OJ Kingpin and established the record label La Honda Evangelium. Their first album as a duo, Gorillas im Nebel (2007), featured collaborations with notable rappers such as Baba Saad and Eko Fresh. Bass's solo career began in September 2009 with the album Basstime. His second solo album, Gangstafilm, was released in 2011. He also released the album Animal (2015) and the Amigo EP (2019).
