A Finnish band blending folk, pop, schlager and rock, Komiat was formed in 2016 by Aleksi-Yli-Sissala (vocals), Aleksi Laukkonen (accordion), Pekka Oravuo (guitar, vocals), Juho Eskola (bass) and Eero Nummela (drums). Characterized by the prominent presence of the accordion, which gives them their traditional touch, the band made a name for themselves by touring, before recording their first singles in 2018 and the album Komiat, released in 2020. The following July saw the release of a live album, Komiat Live, available only on CD and absent from digital platforms. After the successive replacements of Laukkonen by Antero Makkonen on accordion in 2022 and of guitarist Oravuo by Samuel Järvinen in 2023, Komiat hit the road again and returned to the studio to record the album Kaihosielu (2025), driven by the hits "Minähän vien" (ten million listens) and "Kaihosielu " (No. 18 on the IFPI chart).
