Apta is a UK-based ambient electronic producer known for his ethereal, atmospheric soundscapes that blend intricate layers of organic textures, electronic beats, and soothing melodies. Emerging in the late 2010s, Apta has carved a unique niche within the ambient and downtempo genres, starting with 2016's ADSR EP and taking in several other singles, EPs and albums, including 2020 debut Rainbow Island and 2023's Submerge EP, which compiled remixes from the likes of Pye Corner Audio and Gnod. Drawing influences from ambient pioneers like Brian Eno, as well as more modern electronic artists, Apta’s work is both cinematic and intimate, inviting listeners to lose themselves in the soothing flow of sound. In 2025, he brought this to the fore with new album The Pool.
