Ewig was formed in 2012 by vocalist Jeanette Biedermann, guitarist Jörg Weißelberg, and bassist Christian Bömkes, who met in a Berlin studio in late 2011. The trio released their debut single "Ein Schritt weiter" on 31 August 2012, which entered the German charts, followed by the album Wir sind Ewig in September 2012, a German‑language record about love that peaked within the Top 50 of the German album charts. The band toured Germany, Austria, and Switzerland in late 2012, then issued the single "Sieh mich an" in February 2013 and "Unser Himmel" in August 2013. In 2014 they released "Indianerehrenwort" as the lead single from the album of the same name, followed by "Wahre Helden" in May 2015, a promotional track for the German Red Cross blood donation campaign. The 2015 single "Ein Geschenk" placed eighth at the Bundesvision Song Contest, and in 2016 the band contributed "Es geht mir gut" to the Conni & Co soundtrack. Ewig announced its dissolution in April 2019.
