Ensemble Clematis, an international baroque orchestra on period instruments, was founded in 2001 by Belgian violinist Stéphanie de Failly. They focused on lesser-known 17th-century repertoire from Italy, France, Germany, and the Spanish Netherlands. De Failly shared direction with Leonardo García-Alarcón, with a focus on overlooked compositions by Nicolaus à Kempis, Carolus Hacquart, and Giuseppe Zamponi. In 2018, she co-directed Ensemble Clematis with harpsichordist Brice Sailly. The ensemble's discography includes notable albums such as Nicolaus à Kempis: Symphoniae (2004) and Giovanni Legrenzi: Sonate & Balletti (2016). They collaborated extensively with other ensembles led by García-Alarcón, including Cappella Mediterranea and the Chœur de chambre de Namur.
